30 Weeks!

Well we've made it to 30 weeks! This was my first major goal besides all of the smaller stepping stones I'd made along the way. When I was first put on bedrest at 21-22 weeks the doctor seemed to think that I would be very lucky to make it to even 30 weeks so I feel very blessed to be here. With my doctor visit this week and his optimism, I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As I was sitting in the Dr.s office I was remembering how fun my first pregnancy was before I knew anything could go wrong. I was trying to convince myself to enjoy this (possibly my last) pregnancy. Lately I have been feeling that I have the gestation of an elephant but someday I'm sure I'll miss those kicks and flips inside my belly. Carter likes to converse with the baby through my mouth. I guess he thinks the sound will reach him better in my tummy that way.

Little League

It's hard not being able to see my little boy start baseball but Daddy is doing a good job of trying to include me. Here are some pics for you to be included too.

Christmas in March

So I just finally got around to posting some of the pictures from Christmas break. Carter, his dad, cousins and Uncle Mike went up to the snow for a day of fun while we were visiting them in Roseville, CA. Below is a picture of Ella and cousin Dominic. Thanks Ryann for helping me with my pictures! :)

Sweet Boy

Today I got to lay outside for the first time. My mom put a blanket on the grass and my pillows and I layed outside while the kids played. It felt so nice after two months of being inside. While I was out there Carter brought me out a glass of water and a snack without me asking him to. He told me that he remembered all of the nice things I used to do for him and he wanted to do something nice for me. How many 5 year olds are so considerate. I thought that was very sweet.

Half way there!

Seven weeks down and seven more to go! Exciting but kind of depressing at the same time. Carter has started playing baseball and although I have not been able to attend his games Matt brings back the video camera for me to watch. As soon as I can get someone to download the pictures I will post them.

Old Stories

Okay, so I'm laying here bored out of my mind so I thought I would add a new post. Only problem is, I have nothing to talk about so I thought I would be like an old man and tell old stories. A few months ago when we were about to find out the sex of the baby I was telling Carter that we would find out if he was having a brother or sister. He wanted to know how the doctor could tell so I was explaining how a sonogram works and that he would look to see if the baby was a boy or girl. Carter said "Oh, like if the baby has short or long hair?" :) Got to love their innocence.

We completed week 28 today. So close yet soooo far.

Week 27

Well here we are at the beginning of my 28th week. I just completed my 27th yesterday. I have been much more impatient this week. I kind of feel like I'm trying to get over the hump. I guess because I feel pretty good like I should be able to get up and I've been down so long it feels like it should be over. I would love to just be able to go through a drive thru and get a soda. That would make my day! Anyway, we feel very blessed to have gotten this far. We are starting to get out of the danger zone of disabilities. A few more weeks and the baby has a very good chance of not having any long term problems even if it was born early.

Our little shrubs

These pictures are from the beginning of the year but they are all I have right now to post. I will update more when I can get more. Carter is at the stage where you can't get a normal smile unless you catch him off guard.

March 1, 2008

Okay, since I will be bedridden for the next few months I figured now was as good of a time as ever to join in the 21 century and start a blog. Not that I'll have much exciting to add for awhile, unless you care about the color of my walls, but I'll do my best to keep you informed on our family's updates.
